They classified it as being "sudorific, a stimulant anticatharral and astringent". It was prescribed for all respiratory system conditions such as bronchitis, flu, asthma and coughs.
Arthritis, Rheumatism, Back Aches, Muscle Aches, and Soreness:
Use Oil of Eucalyptus as a liniment. Wash the affected area with warm water or apply a warm wash rag. Massage well for at least one minute, apply a small amount of Oil of Eucalyptus as a lubricant. In more severe cases, use a warm compress on the area after applying Oil of Eucalyptus.
Sores, Cuts, and Abrasions:
Clean area thoroughly and apply Oil of Eucalyptus to the affected area. Bandage, saturating and applying the bandage with Oil of Eucalyptus. It will cleanse the wound and stop infection.
Foot Bath for Sore Feet:
Put one teaspoon of Oil of Eucalyptus into a tub of water and soak feet for almost instant relief. Soothe sore feet by applying a few drops of Oil of Eucalyptus to a warm cloth and wrapping the feet.
Sauna:
Sprinkle Oil of Eucalyptus in water and allow it to vaporize in the sauna. You will find it head clearing and invigorating.
